Pros: The pro's of this wonderfull product are:
-Very easy to use with windows 7 and ubuntu 9.04. Haven't tried it on any other operating systems, but i'm sure they will work fine there. You just plug them in, the Operating system will start downloading the drivers if needed, you plug in a set of earplugs and they work.
-It's really really cheap for a sound card. And if your onboard soundcard can't be fixed, or is too expensive to fix you can buy this.

Cons: -It's kinda ugly, but hey, they work fine!

Other: Buy it if you're in need of a cheap and easy to use soundcard.

Pros: Very good sound card. It work out of box in Linux, which is not the case of all sound cards. The sound is very clear. Very cheap and work great and real plug and play ! If you have a problem with your sound card under linux, on your desktop computer or your laptop, it's a must have !

Cons: Nothing, except it look not specially beautiful.

Other: Works great as analogic soundcard !

  • Works with Macs

Pros: Excellent, works without any problem in Apple computers, allowing to use external microphones. you need to use an usb sound system like this one if you plans to use a conference system with your Mac, as the internal speaker usually don't works with normal microphones.

Cons: Not so much, perhaps a "white color" to match the apple colours ;-)

Other: If you use conference system with your mac and usually are in a busy environment , this is a product worth of buy.

Pros: works like it should i have not tested the mic input yet but i do not really need that. works in win xp/7. i got this just to see if there is a difference in the usb sound adapters on this site.

Cons: way too loud at least for headphones. thought it would be useless until i realized that win 7 didnt support my onboard audio.i took a pair of jvc (un-amped or unpowered) speakers and hooked everything up to this device and it works fine and sounds really good streaming internet radio. low volume levels still kinda sound disorted but it is too quiet for the speakers im using anyway so i keep it at 100%.

Other: mod it or do whatever you want this is a nice find. if you know what your doing you can find a use for it and if not at least you didnt spend $20 on it.

  • Good dongle for Skype, not more

posted by boober on 07:31:51 G4T 21/04/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Good solution if You want to use a legacy 2x3.5mm headset for Skype. Pretty cheap and easy-to-use with no additional drivers under W2k+ . IT based on TP6911 IC that's initially for simple SkypePhones, so make it up with 7 keys, and maybe You get fine DIY USB Phone :)

Cons: Output sound is noisy in pauses (sounds like it has compressor inside, but really not), so it's not a TI's PCM2xxx and will not update Your system to an audiophilic monster. It has just PWM pulse out with artifical midpoint, so it's quite impossible to use it as HQ Linear Out. Also being connected to an old HP A700 notebook with a cheap USB hub, it hangs all the system in two seconds of sound, possibly due to weaky USB power, altough other USB devices like RF and wired mouses, BTs and fashdrives was properly work.

Other: Good buy for it's price, but think well what for do You need it :)

Pros: *Plug n play, tested on Windows XP, Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.6.x
    *Tiny look
    *Good price

    Cons: *Very bad sound quality
*I couldn't control its volumes (both for the mic in and the headphones out), they are also too loud
*You can't use it with ad extension cable, it increases the delay and worsens the sound quality

Other: I bought this adapter for playing guitar on my 2009 macbook pro with guitar rig, but it's quality isn't good enough, also you have to use Audio Hijack pro and Guitar Rig 4 plugin, if you want to reach a bit decent and "noiseless" sound.
I think that for its price is obvious that the quality isn't very good, but I wanted to buy it for my curiosity.

Pros: Good for do what is expected to do. It is a good alternative for secondary sound device. For me it fits perfectly on my use!

Cons: It could came with usb cable, but it's ok. The sound rate & quality is not perfect it's just ok for hobby use. Input and output anchorages are bit closer, but this deal is really small.

Other: I think It is not a good deal for hard use like radio station or similar. And Quality sound is more or less as cost, but... value for money!

  • Works great under Linux

posted by sbromwich on 20:55:18 G1T 07/01/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Works well - I had issues with my onboard sound card intermittently pausing under Linux and causing halts, using this as my output device with pulseaudio I have had no issues - it was picked up immediately and I was able to choose it as a device with padevcontrol without needing to do any further configuration.

Cons: Device is fairly wide and is a tight fit when plugged in with any other devices. Best used with an extension cable if any other devices or plugged in with it directly to a motherboard connector.

Other: Stellar value for the price - better sound quality than a creative card I have!
