VMA2012 Class-D Audio Amplifier Evaluation Module (EVM) Board

Pros: This is a really nice board to make a diy USB powered speaker driver. Powered from USB it probably doesn't use the full volume, as USB ports typically deliver between 100mA and 500mA, which is less than needed for max output. However, when using speakers that aren't really inefficient decent audio levels can be achieved. Since I love diy projects like these, I really like this board.

Cons: The capacitor could be a little bigger, say 2000uF or more. But that's easy to do yourself if you know how to solder electronics.

Other: For thuis price, it's awesome.

Pros: Very powerful, it's a 3Wx2 amplifier, but i connect it on my computer and the sound that i almost couldn't hear beafore, now I can hear it without problem with the volume level in 10%

Cons: nothing

Other: I don't know much about eletricity, so I've bought this one just to see if i could make it work and bought the SKU.44125 that is more powerful and it works.

Pros: -the device is small
-the amplifier is very cheap
-the device is easy to use

Cons: -strong noise at 1W output power
-a lot of harmonics
-screw terminal is made out of cheap material, it should be replaced by a dc power connector

Other: If you need a small amplifier for low volume application, buy this, if you need more power, you should buy something like SKU 44123.

Pros: - This little amplifier puts out some nice sound.
- The small package is great for confining spaces.
- Stays cool, no heatsink needed.
- Nice low price.

Cons: - None, as long as 3 watts is all you need.

Other: I am building a sound board for a haunted house with six MP3 players and these amplifiers. Great DIY project amplifier, I would recommend this for low volume applications. For the price it can't be beat!
