Wilderness Survival Fire Sparkle + Blade Cutter Tool

Pros: Where I live, these cost twice as much as on DX. It does what it is supposed to do, and the quality is as good as the ones you buy in any wild-life/survival shop

Cons: Didn't come with any instructions.

Other: I don't know how to start a fire with this, and I think carrying a lighter is probably easier. This, however, will probably work even if moist, as the metal doesn't absorb any liquid. Carry both, if your hardcore like me.

Pros: I was thinking to buy the other big one here in DX, than, this seems to me as a test, but surprises me (and my audience here...) A LOT!
Works as announced, sparks thousand bright flashes, smalls quite simmilar as a powder gun.

Cons: I do not know if the Hostess Stick will last, when you beat it with the metal "sparks-maker" bar, it is hurt and shine, like when you remnove rust from an old iron.

Other: You will need one of this, to make you a powerfull-mighty King of Entire Survived Land, when Earths stays destroyed by this stupid Shit-Eaters Leaders wich have no sex, or loves in real the beauty womans of this planet.

Pros: Cheap, fun and amazes friends. Pack it with my survival knife. Can be handy when you lighter doesn't work.

Cons: Quality should not be expected. The rod is kinda thin and seem flimsy, so durability is unknown. Mine came crooked but oh well

Other: Great buy for the price. Might try the heavy rods next time.

Pros: very fun thing to have, makes a bunch of tiny sparks when scrapped. can save your life one day. perfect size to carry in pocket or attached to knife. can be scrapped with any type of steel/iron.

Cons: must scrape off black coating before it works. green scrapper edge sucks, i actually use the bottom flat area to scrape as its much more effective and has a sharper edge.

Other: you would want to use this on dry tinder. though there are sparks, it will not light up wet materials as magnesium scrapings would. also get close to light material sparks die quickly. cool to show at night.

Pros: Works well, generates a nice shower of sparks when struck properly. I was able to get several different tinder going. Very lightweight, and easy to pack.

Cons: A little lighter in quality, compared to higher-priced flints, but acceptable for the price.
The striker tool needed to to filed a little, to expose more metal. Can easily be replaced with a cheap knife.

Other: It's a modest firestarter at an exceptionally low price. Although I feel better knowing I have better alternatives, this is a better option than nothing at all. Since it's so inexpensive, I also won't hesitate to use it more frequently, if it isn't an emergency.

Pros: first of all let me say that this is A GREAT ITEM. omg this is so great. I was thinking like, well it's going to be hard to light something with this and so.. but ok I'll buy it seams cool. I wasn't having any hopes. I was expecting to be a bit hard to light a fire.
So I received it. and I went try it. Nothing... not a single spark... wtf? what a crap this must be....
oh well I wasn't expecting much... let me just google a bit to see how people use this thing.
ok I found the secret. DOH! remove the paint first... then use.

OMG! BLAZING SPARKLES SO EASLY OMG THIS IS SO AMAZING. I love it!

Cons: no instructions. don't be a noob like me. REMOVE PAINT FIRST.

Other: I want another one!

Pros: This unit is great, the price is extremely low compared to anything where I live, it will last a very long time. Great for camping in the mountains or forests here in the north, more reliable than most lighters and waterproof.

Cons: At this price there are no cons to think of.

Other: I have been using this one for more than a month and I have brought it to the mountains far away from people, used it for lighting my camp fire, in dry, wet and cold conditions. Actually I had to because my original zippo failed and my matches was wet after a swim in cold water....

Pros: It's so cheaaap!
Very sturdy build quality
Produces really strong sparks when struck with a metal object. It can definatelly make stuff go on fire if used correctly.
Comes with a Striker tool. The sparks can fly quite a long distance.

Cons: The striker tool is kind of flimsy and it gets some time getting used to it.
Works better when you strike it with a sharp knife.

Other: Great to use at night and amuse your friends.
Also could be a life saver if all else fails when you get stranded in the mountain all alone without a lighter or matches. AQnd besides-it's so friggin' cheap!

Pros: -Very good for the price.
-When used properly, produces hot brilliant and very useful sparks.
-Lightweight, you can carry it with your knife. Great for camping.
-Good build quality, seems to be going to last for a long time.
-Can really burn things.
-As seen on tv by Bear Grylls on "Man vs Wild" at Discovery Channel.
-Works wet as good as dry. Forget about matches or lighters when camping.

Cons: -Requires a little bit of practice to use it properly.
-Remove paint first!
-The blade that comes with it is unsharpened. You must sharpen it well to be able to struck properly. Or, use your own sharp knife.

Other: -Very very useful tool... If you enjoy camping and surviving journeys, you MUST HAVE one. Very reliable!

Pros: -Great for impressing friends
-Good for camping
-Good for survival situations where you run out of other things that can produce fire.
-Its a nice thing to carry in your bag as decoration.
-Great if you are a pyromaniac :-)

Cons: -I wouldnt count on this one as it can break and leave you in a terrible situation.

Other: -Its a good thing to carry around, one day it may be useful...
-Its cheap enough to have at least one if you like survival stuff...
