Pros: - This unit contains a magnesium bar.
- The ratio of magnesium to ferrocerium is about right.
- The glue used in the construction seems strong enough.
Cons: - Size, it is slightly larger and weighs a few grams more than the the rest.
- The ferrocerium piece seems to be glued onto the magnesium bar, though I have not been able to get it to break off from the magnesium bar.
Other: This is an improved version of the ferrocerium spark match.
The added magnesium is very useful if you can't find dry tinder.

Pros: It's comes with glued on magnesium bar.
Makes great sparks.
easy to use.
Seems enough for a long time.
Fun to set fire something with this :)

Pros: Well after a bit of faffing about, the black protective covering was rubbed off enough to show the metal inside. Once this was done there are heaps of sparks and a good whiff of smoke from each stroke.
Cons: You've got to stroke the full length of the rod, and use a decent amount of downwards pressure to make a lot of sparks. I've not managed to set fire to anything yet, but haven't really been trying. The item weighs more than a lighter and a lot more than some matches. A weight-conscious tramper might not bother. The cord tying the two is too short for comfortable stroking. Untie them or replace with a longer lace.
Other: Bit of a gimmick, but a fun toy.

Pros: it is very big, it works very well and is great for starting fires if u like camping this will last probaly around 1000 fires and is solid quality it sparks very easily and produces a lot of sparks
Cons: i wanted it to be a bit smaller but it did say large
Other: i wold go with a smaller size, and u dont really need the magnesium, if i wanted magnessium i would buy the silver bar because thats what im used to.

Pros: Very useful tool.
Very easy to use.

Cons: None at all.
Other: A useful tool to keep in your backpack, absolutely to have.

Pros: So when i bought this little item i thought it my not work werry whell, even aftre i read all the reviews. But i was pleased when i got it and saw how good is it. It's sparks verry god 98% of times and the other 2% are beacuse i do not aply so much force when it needs to. So it does exactly what it's ment to. to help u get a spark when u need one. even in wet contidions!!
Cons: None, evem if the vire is a bit short, but thats nothing.
Other: Best deal for this money and verry solid. Droped it and runed over with bike and atv, and nothing broked.

Pros: The price is very good
Is big(thath means you can use it more time)
You can use it easy , and if you never ussed Survival Fire Sparkle the magnezium will help you to learn.
Cons: I don't need magnezium part.
The piece of plastic was separeted in firs week, but with a litte super glue is ok.
Other: If you want to learn how you can make fire with a Survival Fire Sparkle it is perfect.is a good and cheap metod to make fire, but you must have some experience
Sorry for my bad english.

Pros: IS a very good item to start the fire.
IS exential to have one at least in your survival/emergenci Kit.
Low price, and easy to use you have only try 5 times to have fire.
Cons: the blade not works as good at it should. I have change it, and works better.
The cord is short and you cant use it properly
Other: They can use paracord instead a rope.
To start to use began to try it whit out wind and whit a very flamable base to start the fire faster.

Pros: - A firestarter is a must-have, or at least a very useful tool, in survival/outdoor situations.
- It's quite big, when compared to some other thinner firestarters on DX. This means you've got extra material to work with (because in the end, firestarters aren't everlasting, they will wear and "run out") and it's stronger.
- It produces a nice amount of sparks which last long enough to ignite dry material.
Cons: - It's one of the more expensive firestarters on DX.
Other: It's a bit more expensive than some other firestarters, but you shouldn't save a dollar (or 2) on equipment like this. It's worth the shot.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - It's relatively cheap, compared to what you pay over here (Europe). - This model is one of the larger models on DX, which makes it more easy to hold, and it lasts longer (because firestarters use to wear/"run out", because each time it loses some material). - It produces a nice volume of sparks almost every time, which last long enough to ignite a flammable material.
Cons: - Although it's cheap, it's still a bit more expensive than other firestarters on DX. - I'm not quite sure how long the plastic handle will hold, but to be honest, I think it's well built.
Other: This is a great firestarter for outdoor use!
