Wilderness Survival Fire Sparkle + Blade Cutter Tool (Small)

Pros: Nice colour. Handy and easy to carry. Able to produce nice sparks using one of the blade edges.

Cons: Paint on the blade began to come off with the first you. Its serrated end may not have a fine enough edge to produce sparks. Only one side edge has worked for me so far.

Other: The best value on DX for a rare survival situation when durability and appearance aren't an issue.

Pros: - Make fire with this tool
- It is small and handy, keep one in the car, backpack purse..?
- Nice red color

Cons: - It's not the best one avalible, so if you plan to use one actively, pay the few $ more..
- You need to know the right technique

Other: - Get some for emergency and survival use.
- Learn how to use it forehand
- Keep something to start the fire with it (paper, wool..)
- It looks good

Pros: this thing really works. you can light fire when you have no match stick or it can work when sticks are wet due to rain.
it is durable and lght weight.

Cons: it is too short to create sparks every time. i suggest to pay more to bigger ones. metal blade wont work before its paint get stripped.

Other: this can save your life when needed. or when you have no match stick you can cook your own meal by using this sparks. or just buy it to feel safe when you are at wild.

Pros: This device has the following positive attributes1. Easy to use. It is really easy to create sparks and ignite dry tinder.2. Price is good, it is significantly cheaper than at local camping stores.3. Well built, it will not break easily.

Cons: I really can't think of any.

Other: Whilst I won't be using this tool frequently, it's still pretty cool to take out when going camping. I would recommend it if you are after a sparkle tool or interested in one after watching episodes of Man Versus Wild.

Pros: Works out of the box, Mine came with one side of the blade sharpened akin to a razor I didnt have to scrape any paint away for it to work just applied pressure and strike I tried to set the yellow package it came in on fire, but I think there fire resistant worked with toilet paper or tissue though

Cons: For this price, I was looking for something like this to try before buying more expensive versions, No cons I can see apart from possibly the rope that holds the 2 parts together could be a little longer so it can be looped around a keyring or something

Other: Happy with my purchase, i'd recomend this before buying anything more costly if you have just a passing interest and want to see what its all about, although I wouldnt depend on it for its designed purpace.. thats what the bigger brothers are for

Pros: Easy to use. Nice colors and design, makes me wanna get a few more in other colors. Makes good sparks and can easily start a fire. Comes bundled in a string so it won't get lost. Easily located in a camping bag. Not very sharp, will not hurt you unless you really try to make a horrible accident. Handy.

Cons: Comes covered in black paint, first few strikes will not work until you scrape off the paint and get to the inner material.

Other: Cheap and cool

Pros: As I sayd...Lots of fun! Is very nice to make some sparks, an can be really usefull in some cases. I put it in water and it works just nice. The sparks are very intense and sometimes keep burning for a while.
It's small enouth to use as a keychain.

Cons: spends kinda quick.
Mine came with some small issues in one side, like little holes...but that does not really a con.
The blade cutter ir very hard to use, get something longer so u reach righer speeds(is all abbout the speed to get sparks)

Other: I like it! I may buy some more!

Pros: Small. This would fit in any camping or survival kit.

Cons: I wouldn't use this to regularly create fires. It is pretty small and would probably be used up easily. DX sells a larger version that would work better.
The included "blade cutter tool" doesn't work too well. There is a coating of paint over it that interferes with its use. If you do decide to use this, as I have, then you'll need to take a knife or something and scrape the paint off of the bottom and sides. This will make it work a lot better. Of course you could always just use a knife or something else.

Other: I bought this one to fit in something small but for regular use I have a bigger one that is much better.

Pros: - small and compact smaller than other ones sold here. - able to generate a big spark for a small tool.

Cons: - harder to start a fire due to its size. - must know what you are doing if you want it to work correctly. if you do not then prepare for a long time before an actually fire starts. patience is key.

Other: good to have around in case the world starts to end all around you or just good for camping. overall, why wouldn't you get one just to learn how to spark a flame.

Pros: I bought several of these over the last months, some as gifts and others for myself. They all work great. I have started every fire in my back yard pit using this item since last year and still have the first one (even if it is worn down). It is easy to use; if you are having trouble getting a clean swipe then you can change out the rope between the 2 parts to give you more room to work.

Cons: None- this product works perfectly and is about 15-20 dollars less than if you go to a camping store and buy it. Considreing it eventually wears down, you are going to want to buy more than one- so save money and but it here
