Wilderness Survival Fire Sparkle Short Flint + Opener + Sawtooth

Pros: This is probably one of the cheapest flint-and-steel you can find anywhere. It works GREAT. It is easy to use and produce big sparks, which ignite things without any problems. It has a good bottle-opener and decent saw-tooth to make tinder.

Cons: *Absolutely none!

Other: Just buy it and have one on you and one in the car. You never know when you may need to start a fire, especially in cold countries like Canada or Russia. Remember, your zippo will run out of fire after a few weeks... this product? It's good for months and even years !

Pros: Perfect fero rod. Identical to ones selling here for much more. One scrape to remove the protective covering and I was throughing sparks.

Cons: None, it just plain works. This would be hard to screw up but given the price I didn't actually expect something identical to the ones selling here.

Other: Buy it. Shipping takes a month but it's worth it for the price difference.

Pros: This is a very simple piece of gear and you would think that it would be hard to screw up. Buy one at even close to this price in a surplus store or camping store here and see if you still think that. This works so much better that my big-box store flint did. Sparks more and hotter, catches tinder faster and it's about a third of the price.

Cons: None, they just plain got this right.

Other: Not only does this work, but the striker that they call a saw blade actually works as well as a knife blade for striking sparks off this thing. Good, Good, Good gear...

Pros: Starts fires in all conditions Easy to use Lasts for quite some time

Cons: The rope is a little short, and the striker doesn't work if you're a left hander. Im not sure how you're meant to use the saw, use a real saw or an axe instead

Other: For the price of a cheeseburger you can't go wrong! We leave one in the camper trailer so that we're always prepared. You'll be thnkful for this during a zombie apocolypse!
