Wireless Multimedia Infrared IR Remote Controller with USB Receiver for PC/Laptop (1*CR2025)

Pros: Does exactly what it claims to do. Simple to operate and install. Build quality is better than you would expect considering the price. The instruction sheet is clear and concise.

Cons: Delivery was slow, nearly 5 weeks. A small drawstring bag to keep all the bits together would have been handy but this is really scraping the barrel looking for a con.

Other: For the price you can't really go wrong.

Pros: No software set up. Sends standard ASCII commands to machine for Arrow Commands, Enter, Page Up, Page Down, Backspace etc.

Cons: About product None. Shipping is too slow! Email correspondence take over a week to get an answer. This is a deal killer for me.

Other: Shipping extremely sloooooooow. I have inquired about alternative shipping several days ago but still have received no reply. I want to buy more but I am not prepared to wait over one month for shipping.

Pros: + very cheap + battery for remote control included + very easy to use (just plug in) + cursor can be remote controlled + IR receiver is quite small + comes in a package + USB extension cable included (though it's a little bit short)

Cons: - looks and feels cheap

Other: Great gadget, just plugged it in and it works! No installation was required! (Windows 7) It looks a little bit cheap, but the build quality is ok for the price. If you are looking for a cheap and small remote control for your computer, then I highly recommend this product!

Pros: Excellent price.
Very simple to install and use. Installation cannot be easier. Just plug-and-play. Windows 7/Vista already has native ready to use drivers. Works out-of-the-box.
You can control the keyboard navigational keys (up,down,left,right) or the mouse moving with the directional buttons. A handy button allows you to switch which mode you want to use (keyboard or mouse).
Play, pause, stop, forward, volume, they all work.
Good range. Works well from the couch ~5m away from the IR sensor.

Cons: Not the best interface for moving the mouse pointer. It's like using the keyboard accessibility to mouse the mouse on direction at a time.
Windows XP also has drivers, but not fully functional as Vista or 7. Some keys do not work as expected.

Other: I recommend this if you want a simple ready-to-use solution. If all you want is the ability to play/pause or adjust the volume while your computer sits besides your LCD TV, this is your choice. Not top of the line, but it sure does the job it says it does.

Pros: +Works straight out of the box in windows XP and also in windows 7
+Works straight out of the box with XBMC (win XP version) and finally giving me the opportunity to just lie down on my bed and control the playback from there

Cons: - I had some major difficulties opening the locker for battery. It seemed that some paint acted like a glue between the lid and the remote

Other: The remote feels cheapish what comes to the build quality but as long as it does what it is meant to do, I'm just happy the way it is.

Pros: It works well, as long as you don't block the signal in any way. It came with a F to M USB extension cable, which i'm assuming is so that you can keep the reciever and remote within view of each other when there aren't any visable USB ports available :P

Cons: The flashing light is slightly annoying after a while. Infared signals work basically through light patterns.. And every time the reciever ''sees'' a flash from any remote, the LED on the reciever flashes in the same pattern as it saw. And i mean any infared transmitter.. Including my motion sensor.. Also, most modern remotes don't need to be in such direct view.. But i suppose it's alright for the price :P

Other: Perfect for anyone who use any type of computer as a media center, with a bit of modding i even got it to work on linux. It is a much cheaper solution than purchasing a computer remote from a local store.

Pros: Just plug and play, excelent working.

Cons: the "power" button must be harder, so, if you accidentally push it, the pc wouldnt turn off
it is a little hard to use in the mouse form.

Other: excelent gadget, i am fully satisfied.

Pros: This little remote produces standard ASCII commands. I have written a media player which works perfectly with this remote.

Cons: The mouse alternative is on by default and does not work that well. Must be turned off for normal commands.

Other: Best remote for the price I have ever tested.

Pros: * Does exactly what it should * Works out of the box (at least for Windows 7) - just mount the battery and put the dongle into the usb port of the pc. * Convenient * Feels ok, stable remote device * Works with no hassle from 2.5 - 3 m distance

Cons: I really don't seem to find any, may be the laser.. see "other thoughts"

Other: Great device. Worth its money.
