  • World's smallest Solar-Car

posted by vbserver on 07:39:44 G6T 05/06/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: The smallest Solac-Car in the world is really very small. It drives very fast, if the sun is shining ;). The Price is very good. Ship was very fast.

Cons: When the sun isn't shining, the solar-car will not driving :(. You can't use it with LED-Light or Neon-Light.
One axle is slightly bent. (Building-Quality is not so good, but it's Okay for this price. the solar-car drives.) ;)
    No other cons :)

Other: Buy more than one ;) You will like it.

  • Pretty nice little car... needs lots of sunlight

    posted by jazzpgh2 on 00:49:48 G6T 20/06/2010 certificated customer

Pros: Nice little solar powered car moves pretty quickly in direct sunlight Light, small and fun

Cons: You need direct strong sunlight for the car to go at all! Cloudy day or sunlight through a window will not power it. Dies quickly in the shade The front wheels don't turn left or right for steering

Other: worth it for a little toy. Can put it on a track and let it run around on a sunny day.

  • not bad

Pros: I bought this because I like solar power and it might have been fun to play with. It actually goes pretty fast and works way better than the solar cockroach, if will even work inside next to a sunny window

Cons: Its very lightweight so it tends to flip over if not of a very smooth surface. to counteract this you can put a small weight on the front of the car and it will run smoothly

Other: Buy one of these is you want a small cheap solar powered toy and stay the hell away from the cockroaches, although not really useful for anything it might entertain you for a moment.

Pros: Takes up no space at all in your garage! Cheap to run. Easy to service.

Cons: Needs decent direct sun. Extremely small luggage capacity. Can be eaten by a cat, dog or unsupervised small children. (However this can still be quite entertaining.)

Other: If only this had adjustable steering so that it would do circle work on the veranda until the shadows caught it.
A strong desk lamp will power this at close range and you can also make it scoot along with the SIPIK single AA cell zoom torch from this same wonderful website.
Putting it under their turned off desklight can also be used to surprise your co workers. Get one just because they're cool.

  • Small and cheap toy

    Pros: Small
    Lightweight
    Really fast!
    Good build quality

Cons: Too lightweight, it flip upside down very easily.
Can`t see something really bad in a product of this price.

Other: Buy this if you want a small and cheap high-tech toy for you or your childs, they will love-it!
It works during the day with sun or at night with a strong source of light, like a laser beam (green ones are the best) or a flashlight.

Pros: - it works! it need bright sunlight to drive away, but if you hold it in the air it doesn't need very much sunlight at all to make the wheels spin!!
    - it can deal with extreme bouncing! It has a good build quality, it fell from 2 stories high and stil works like its brand new!
    - the price is just great, not expensive at all! i'm planning on getting loads more to give away as gifts!
    - you don't need to do anything to make it work, just put it in sunlight and vvrroeeemmmm its gone!

Cons: - it needs to be in a smooth surface to drive proporly, it will stall when it hits a small stone or a crack in the road.
    - it doesn't have a remote controll but for this size and price you can't really expect that!

Other: Get it! you won't regret it! For this price get more to keep as gifts for when you forget it was someones birthday (lol)

  • GREAT SOLAR LITTLE CAR

posted by TarkanM on 22:51:48 G8T 21/08/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Its great, works perfect. Its very powerfull under the sun, despite the problem I had with the shafts (see cons) the build quality seems to be really good, its seems quite sturdy! the wheels have a removable rubber bands, which allow the car to have more traction

Cons: Mine came with bent shafts, therefore not working. I had to straighten them with a tool. After that, no problem! Works great

Other: Its a good demonstration of solar energy, its has a good power, really small! buy one its only $2.50!

  • Lots of fun :)

posted by randomducky on 23:43:49 G8T 21/08/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Very small and light. Lots of fun to play with as it is quite fast when there is a decent amount of light on it. Light can either be shined by a torch/lamp or natural sunlight. Would be lots of fun to play with in the Spring/Summer as there would definitely be enough natural light to get it going.

Cons: It needs quite a bit of light to work, but I assume this is the nature of all solar powered products.

Other: It's a cheap and entertaining toy, great as a small gift for children or just to amuse yourself. I definitely recommend it.
