Pros: This is a great light with a full range of flood to throw. This always surprises my friends since it is so bright and versatile yet so small. The throw on this light is awsome! It can't throw as well as my rapidfire spear, but sure holds its own. Throw wise, I'd say it can go ~200 meters+, at which point the LED square image is bigger than a two story house. The focus mechanism is basically pulling/pushing the head from the body, something easily done with one hand.

Cons: The body is kinda plain/ugly and there is quite abit of lint/dust under the lens which I have yet figured out how to remove. All else is good other than that.

Other: If you already have rcr123 batteries and a charger, then you should definitly pick one of these up.

  • amazing concept

Pros: the flood to spot is amazing. It out throws the cree "superthrower" . The only thing it doesn't compete with is an aspheric mag with a cree Q5. The larger 52mm aspheric lens projects a much smaller cree die, which in turn makes a tighter and more intense beam.

Cons: Upon disassembly I came to find a star simply sitting in the light with no thermal paste. It is held down by an aluminum ring with a peace of plastic. This means it is poorly heat sinked, which is obvious when you run the light for an hour straight and it doesn't even get warm.

Other: Despite poor heat sinking, its brilliant.

  • Never thought a light could be this good.

Pros: Unlike my favorite and trusted mag light, many newer LCD lights do not have a flood to throw feature. This light blows any mag out of the water! It will light up a whole tree sitting in front of you or shine 1/4 mile away at someone. The first high powered LED I can use while working on my car. Most are too bright to see what I'm doing.

Cons: Seems a little loose on the slide mechanism. You can open it up and bend out the metal ring to make the slide function more stiff.

Other: If you are not turned off by the price, but this. You will not be disappointed.

    Pros: very bright
    zoom works well
    takes rcr123

Cons: could maybe be a little cheaper
a little thermal paste on the emitter star would help heat dissipation

Other: It is a great light especially if you have rcr123 batteries.
I really like it and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

Pros: I use this light for caving and on flood it will fill a 20-30 foot chamber adequately. The throw, however, is where this light excels. I've successfully illuminated down to the bottom of a 100m mine shaft in absolute darkness with this light and it's invaluable for 'distance-spotting'.

Cons: If I was to be picky I might want longer battery life, but it's great compared to competitors.

Other: Cheap, versatile and bright as holy hell. Great thrower.

Pros: OMFG! That's the word i'm gonna use for this flashlight..
it is EXCELLENT!!!! The best flashlight I have ever used (not including the Spotlights). I can iluminate a house almost a kilometer away from my house!!! it is AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Incredible! Well I don't know if it is a kilometer but it is A LOT! You'll not regret!

Cons: The only thing it happened to me is that the battery I purchased here (the 123 type) did not fit in the flashlight, so I use a little piece of metal to fit the battery and now it works OK.

Other: Buy it, you'll nor regret, I promise!

Pros: super cheap for what you get very bright great light output (using sku.19627) fits protected batteries The zoom mechanism has just the right amount of resistance so no need to put in o-rings as someone else wrote here. due to it's compact size it makes a great helmet light for mtb-ing (mounted with sku.12000). Have it for almost a year now and still works as new. I mainly use my fenix p3d q5 as everyday light that I always have in my pocket so I haven't used it as much as I would if this was my only light. Very unintrusive light thx to absolutely constant flood with no hotspot. Very nice when looking for something.

Cons: the switch is kinda wobbly and sometimes when pressed moves to one side (will return to centre if pressed again) the back part with the switch has some imperfections in the screws. Kinda hard to screw in straight and has some resistance. But no big deal for the low price. Too bulky to use as a primary everyday light for your pocket, but for my application (secondary helmet light) it works just perfect.

Other: You will not get a better light for that price. I bought it together with Spiderfire ssc p7 (sku.19767) just cause it was so cheap and never regretted it. Has enough output to ride my bike even alone. Together with Spiderfire SSC P7 and Fenix P3D Q5 on my handlebars it provides all the light I need for even very fast downhills and when going slow it provides enough light to see around me since I have it mounted on my helmet.

Pros: + Does really have good throw for light shows and good flood for indoor usage too. + Can see the beam like a saber in the dark. + Small and looks durable. Survived a few drops and hard push pull at the hands of my 2 year old daughter. + Blinding if spotted at the eyes but it really is a tight beam. + Can tailstand

Cons: - The body is the same diameter, cut from all other x2000 lights including that can work with AAA cells so it is too thick for a CR123 battery flashlight. - Focus changes easily trying to press the button, more due to short body. I have to use my three fingers to turn on/off - Mine has a plastic lens and optics seem to steal some of the light too. I hope to have these with more powerful leds someday. - The price could be lower. There are many more powerful and smaller lights available at this price range.

Other: My first zooming flashlight made me buy more of these. While the tightest and widest ends have their own advantages, with even illumination mid range setting on these zooming lights is more than pleasing in the dark.

  • Cheap flashlight

    posted by vetal334 on 12:42:58 G11T 29/11/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: 1)Cheap; 2)Easy to disassemble; 3)On board LED driver are switching mode constant current; 4)Zoom focus - VERY VERY useful!

Cons: 1)Flashlight body too big for 16340 - there are plastic tube used to fix the battery in the middle. It seems this body are basic design for 3xAAA then modified for 1x16340 Li-Ion; 2)LED driver becomes VERY hot when operation, especially the onboard inductor; 3)Poor line regulation and high dependency from temperature.

Other: In retail configuration this flashlight are poor. Buy it if you know how to upgrade it with more efficient driver and LED.

  • The little torch that could.

posted by thekanester on 12:13:49 G10T 27/10/2012 certificated customer

Pros: I bought this just before it sold out! I also bought one of the xm-l t6 zoom-flood torches that professes to have 900 lumens that was twice the price of this one. I've owned a bunch of p4 torches and know how generally decent they are in terms of output. To my surprise, this little thing is almost indistinguishable from the xm-l. I was disappointed by that one, but over the moon with this little one. It's also stupidly small and looks very cute. It's great to see so much output from such a stubby torch. I'm disappointed that these are sold out as I'd buy another few as gifts if they weren't.

Cons: There are no cons - certainly not at this price. The only thing I would mention is that there is a little tiny bit of slop around the head, but it's not too bad. The inner tube also has a plastic liner for the battery, but I guess to make it compatible with some cheaper batteries that might be a little wider, it's a bit generous. My protected CR123A doesn't rattle about too much, and it's generally very good.

Other: Currently sold out - would buy more if DX get more in. Really good little torch.
