Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: -Very bright -Nice color temperature. -Good price compared with for example SSC-P7 -Brighter than P7 by far. -No mayor artifacts or circles (I used it to mod SKU. 26342 and man what a little lenser in became).
Cons: -Gets hot very fast (but thats normal with such Powerfull LEDS. -Don't know if it's really 1000 Lumen like DX claims it to be. But it's allot better than the P7's I used to build into my flashlight mods.
Other: Perfect modding LED. Very powerfull.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Gives an awfull lot of bright white light with a little higher colortemperature as the sun. Dazlinug and very unhealthy for your eyes to look direct into the emitter. Because this tells something about the efficience of this LED emitter it is not a cons.
Cons: You need to have dicipline to work with this kind of ledemitter. It should be handled with almost the care you need to do with a laser lightsource. Not for unexperienced people. When you give the emitter the full trottle (3000mA) you can damage your eyes propable for ever, it burns spots in your retina. Safe looking distance in bare emitter shoud be at least a meter.
Other: An unbeatable emitter wich can even be used for headlight in cars. Watch your eyes and the temperature of the emitter (star). In testsituations with no safety for your eyes I advise to reduce the current to max 1000 mA. The emitter produces in that situation more than 300 lumen, uncooled not more than 300mA This is a very nice product for desighners and inventors but to tricky for not experienced persons.

Pros: Great quality product with multiple soldering points.
Star is nicely made
Good positioning and connecting of led to star.
True Cree Product
20precent more efficient than a xp-g at the same current
Cons: Not to much of a con but the star dimensions are not exactly the same on points but better than others i have used.
Little bit expensive.
Other: Really bright led that can be use for a wide range of uses and run at a wide range of currents.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: -Small for its output
-Very Bright
-Kinda cheap for its power
-Runs well over the rated voltage (i ran it at 12V)
-Runs cool at 3V
-Brighter than P7 at 12V
Cons: -Does not take 3 amps until at 12 volts! Only 400mA at 3 volts.
Other: Worth the price. If you want a bright led to run for short periods, this should be the choice.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: theres not much to say but wow it is bright.just power it the right way and it will put out some serious blinding light.best quality i ran it on one 18650 lion and it draws about 4.3amps that is a direct drive and it is vary well maintained on that type of power and is vary stable on high amp draw it gets warm but its normal for the type of current that it draws.i highly recommended
Cons: none
Other: vary vary bright light output a must have for the light builder
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: This LED is MUCH MUCH brighter than the P7's I have.
Worked Perfect as a replacement in a p7 Host that I had.
Brighter than the Headlights on my ATV!
Cons: None
The Price was Unbelievable for the light output. I guess time will tell if I got what I paid for!
Other: if you are looking to a replacement star for your torch look no further. This thing is a beast! Brighter than the two 40w bulbs lighting my kitchen!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: I wired up the XML to four 1.1 amp lifepo4's (in parallel). I solar charged 'em and wasn't paying attention when... all of a sudden, they shot up to 4.6 volts (1v too high!). I heard about the robustness of this XML and turned it on... anyways, to check the voltage drop through the .2 ohm resister. Sure enough, ohms law concluded 3.8 amps. There is no bluish tint typical of burned leds.
Cons: There is a slight greenish tint around just the very edge of the cone of light, as can be seen with all of them in flashlights, when the battery is very low, but that is to be expected from the world's most efficient source.
It does not interfere with the quality of the light because the "edge" is such a small percent of the total.
Not a con.
Other: The bottom line is to get these. They'll light up your room when driven direct at only 1.2 amps!
Thanks DX!

Pros: Its Bright with big B. I will order later about 50 more and get my hole house lighted with these. Totally monsterous led
Cons: It takes a Huge amount of current, 4A@3,6V. Needs heatsink, literally THE heatsink.
Other: Buy it if you need sturdy led and light. approx. 20w spotlight halogen would be suitable comparison for this little cutie. I'm checking out if PWM will work with these because it would be easy way of controlling this otherwise it can be too bright for some solutions.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: + Brigthness: Those are very bright, i modded my Mag 3C with one of those. At the moment i use direct drive and the LED only runs at ~1,3A ... the batterys can't put out more ... but it's still very bright.
+ Easy to mount and glue on a heat spreader thanks to the star layout
Cons: - you need to buy other stuff (driver, proper batterys) to use this LED at full power
Other: Great LED for everyone who wants to mod oder built a flashlight or other sort of light.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: What can I say. One of the best LEDs in the world if not the best. The chip itself is very small an has excellent light output. The color temperature is nice too. I'm driving it with around 2.2 amps to be more reliable but it still outputs plenty of light and not so much heat for such a current.
Cons: No cons!
Other: If you want to mod any of your flashlights from DX then this is for you. It's really bright and really satisfies you. But of course higher the current is the faster batteries are drained. :)
I absolutely recommend this one!
