CREE XPG R5 1000LM 3-LED 3-Mode White Bike Light with Mount Bracket and Battery Pack (4 x 18650)

Pros: - Price is reasonable enough to overlook some flaws. - Very bright on maximum mode, strobo mode is absolutely killing. Quite enough light in minimal brightness to ride offroad after sunset . - Good quality, rubber seal rings, good heatspread

Cons: - Mount bracket is flimsy and weak for such a weighty device. Mount bracket has a rotating pad on top, it is riveted, and is quite shaky while riding. - Rain protection is doubtfull. Power cord inlet is not sealed. Connection with battery pack is not tight. - No thermal grease between LED module and aluminium case, LEDs may overheat I guess. - Sometimes switches itself off in minimal brightness mode because of vibration.

Other: Good for such a price. Takes a little effort to make it work perfectly.

Pros: Super bright on high and strobe. lasts for ages on strobe and dim. Really nice output with very well blended throw and spill. Nicely machined and made light unit.

Cons: mount is loose and rattles. water proofness is doubtful. I added a plastic bag around battery. Something wrong with connector plug from battery to light - not sure yet if wire broken inside. Sometimes you have to fiddle with the plug. reliable after that. Charger has 2 flat posts for plugging into mains. In NZ have to twist them with pliers or buy a international converter.

Other: Huge light and great bang for your buck. Keep battery dry for long life. Keep safe on the roads and use one of these day and night.

Pros: This is a very bright led light. The mounting system seems solid (much better than those rubber o-rings) and has a quick release for the light unit itself, so you can easily detach the light when you leave your bike.

Cons: Didn't come with any instructions manual or documentation. For example, the charger has a led indicator that goes from red, to orange and then to green. I must guess what that means. Not a major problem, though. It's just a light, not a rocket engine.

Other: Great value.

Pros: For a reasonably cheap price, we have more than adequate lighting to go to the mountain. To go by road so minimal wear. On the mountain with the maximum mode, seems the focus of a bike.

Cons: Take long to get home. The battery was defective, (was repaired by an expert). Dealextreme customer behaved very well and resolved to the satisfaction of both parties.

Other: Recommended for price and performance.
