YongNuo Digital Camera Vertical Grip External Battery Pack for Canon 20D/30D/40D DSLR

Pros: This is a solid and well built battery grip.
I've had my hands on the "real Canon" BG-E2 as well and this is the same thing. The batteries fit firmly and sits in place without any wobbling, the rubber on the grip matches the one on the 40D handle and the black color of the grip is the same as on the 40D.
When screwing it onto the body it fits tight and does not move around while handling the camera.
It has the storage place for the battery compartment lid as the original grip has aswell.

Cons: The blue printed symbols have a brighter blue color than the blue symbols on the 40D body.
There is no "Canon" logo on the front, as on the original :)

Other: Why pay 3 times as much for a piece of plastic with a Canon logo?

Pros: -good build quality -has good sealing against dust & rain -you can use your camera much longer -makes your camera looks pro -fits perfectly on a Canon EOS 50D -strong and usefully shaped grip -exposure wheel and extra buttons are nice

Cons: Make sure you really tighten the mount-screw. Else it will disconnect the powersupply to the camera and your camera cant power up. But that is obvious ;)

Other: Absolute great value for the money, DON'T buy the original Canon one, just buy this one! Don't be fooled by the expensive branded ones, this one has it all!

Pros: I love the overall idea of the device as replacement at best price for Canon BG-E2N Battery Grip (for Canon 40D, 30D, 20D). I cannot give it away since I have it.

Cons: Unfortunately, the build quality is not there. I lately try to use the conventional battery with the compartiment, I could not use it at first, but after removing te little plastic to free iron contact on it, it worked out. But then, I thought I could never remove it, was forced and broke some iron contact inside.

Other: For te price, Worth a buy but better quality built will be much more appreciated.

Pros: I was surprised by the good build quality on this item. It is a snug fit on the camera and the grip feels ok to handle.

Cons: The only concern i have is with the bottom thread for tripods.
The plastic is flexing when the camera is tilted on the side when using a tripod
