Pros: Bought this for my 400D (Digital Rebel XTI). It allows me to:
1. Set time remaining to take the pic
2. Set number of pics
3. Set interval between each pic
4. Set exposure time for the pics
Combine these to get, for example, 10 pics of 5sec exposure each, and 3 minutes between each pic.
Cons: Has no On/Off switch
Other: The original is more than the double, and does exactly the same. Easy to set up and use, you'll love it for time-lapse pics (moving clouds, blooming flowers...

Pros: I've been using this timer remote shutter for astrophotography purposes, and I found it very useful for many reasons:
1- It's quite cheaper than the original one.
2- You can set the timer to take a lot of pictures meanwhile you're doing other tasks.
3- Very useful for astrophotography and time-lapses.
Cons: Ok, it's not perfect:
1- The cable is only a meter long, I would pay an extra $5 to have a longer one. Since we put the timer in a tripod, a short cable can produce involuntary movements in the photo because of the wind if we can't put it on the ground or somewhere else.
2- It's always running, there's no on/off button. Although this is not a problem since the batteries are supposed to last for three years (just ask me in 3 years and I'll tell you if this is right).
3- Light only lasts about 6 seconds, it's not enough to set the timer at night.
Other: If you need a timer shutter, just buy this one, it's almost perfect.

Pros: It's cheap. It's small. It's light. It is also very versatile.
Cons: I have two different cameras and there is no separate cable so I had to buy two units. Not death at this price, but annoying and more gear.
A longer cable could be useful, but on the other hand it is more to get in the way. I would attach it some way to the tripod in wind.
LCD light does not last long enough.
I find the buttons to alter settings can be unreliable, but on only one unit. So a QC problem. A tiny dab of "electrolube" _seems_ to have helped.
I found the User "guide" to be a bit of a mess.
Other: Even though I had to buy two, if these keep performing then they are excellent value for money as far as I am concerned.

Pros: Easy to use, just plug it in and set it up. Fits fine in my camerabag. Good manual that explains most setups and gives tips what not to do. You can combine the different settings for additional modes, a good table of reference is in the manual. You can lock the trigger button for taking long exposures manually
Cons: No power off button.
Other: Works like it should. A power off button and it would be perfect.

Pros: Does everything Canon brand name intervalometer can do for 1/10th of the price.
Cons: Battery doesn't shut off, but the device consumer no more power than a wristwatch, so will last for years. The scroll switch had a slight mechanical obstruction, but a few wiggles up and down took care of the issue.
Other: Works exactly like it's brand name counterpart. The scroll wheel is just a bit rougher initially, but works itself out naturally with use. Worth every cent!

Pros: Although the description doesn't mention the EOS 550D (Rebel T2i) - it works fine with this model. Put the battery in, plugged it in and it works fine. A must have if you are wanting to do any time-lapse photography. The price is great and the build quality is surprisingly good.
Cons: The cable could be a little longer, especially when using a full size tripod. The build is strong so you could easily leave it hanging if you wanted - some of those velcro srtips could work fine to secure it to your tripod or camera. When you install the battery it comes on - there is no way of turning the device off (you could remove the battery) but you run the risk of loosing it - the manual, however does state this and says that battery has a 3 year life - I just don't like to see things on all the time I really had to think hard to find any cons
Other: At a little of $30 - grab it, you wont be sorry

Pros: Very good product. It is easy to use, I could figure out how to use it without reading the manual. Works with Canon 600d also. Easy to create time lapse videos even in the night sky.
Cons: You cannot turn off the thing and it is eating battery all the time. That is why I say 4 on build quality. But it also says that the battery lasts till 3 years even if it is turned on all the time. If you want to save battery you have to take it off and back on again when you need it.
Other: It is a great product for its price!

Pros: I ordered this some weeks ago. The box was marked with YONGNUO DIGITAL TC-80 (with c1 connector cable). Works PERFECT for time-lapse shoots with my canon G10. No way of turning it off, but this is hardly a problem, since the battery (included) is said to last 3 years. The original canon controller (practically identical) is set at 144 USD at some webstores. Cable is short but soft. Appx. 60 cm. Build quality is good, and very easy to use. Extremely good deal :D
Cons: None I can think of.
Other: :) Just do it!

Pros: Excelent product. Easy to use, has all the needed functions and no more than the needed ones. I use the intervalometer to do astrophotography and could easily set the camera to shoot all the pictures automatically without my intervention.
Cons: It has no power off switch, you can take the battery off, but I think it really doesn't use much battery so it's not a big problem. I believe the original Canon product has the same condition anyway.
Other: If you need to shoot automatic photographs in any number, this is the product for you.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: I had built my own shutter timer that worked well enough, but was bulky and the batteries didn't last all that long. It's now been replaced by this device which is small, light, and lasts a couple of months off a single CR2032 coin cell battery. Even without the battery it can be used as a remote manual shutter release to reduce camera shake for long exposures or when using zoom lenses. Easy to setup options for first shot delay, time between shots, length of shot, and number of shots. It's a set and forget device for taking time lapse shots of the night sky for instance. Works perfectly with both my EOS 350D and 60D.
Cons: None really.
Other: If you want to move out of the realm of point and shoot photography then this is what you need. It makes doing time lapse and/or long exposure shooting a breeze.
