YXTM Eye-piece for Canon EOS 5D/40D/30D/1000N/1000FN + More Digital Cameras

Pros: Perfect as replacement for missing eye-piece. It's not an improvement for a current 'standard' eye-piece, but if you remove the origional and lose it, or if you're just not too carefull when handling your camera you can easily get to be in need of a replacement like this. Bought one to have a spare 'just in case', but as i lost my origional while it was in the mail, i'm ordering a second. Shooting without this guard is possible, but you get a bit more 'false' light in your eye, wich can be annoying. Also, the little dial i have to compensate for your eyesight is changed more easily (which is a bad thing: you want to set this once) without an eye-piece

Cons: No real cons. Fit my 30D perfectly: i think the sizes are quite standard, so there's no big issue here. It feels like it even "falls off" less readily then the origional, but that one had some wear and tear in it, so it could be just because its new.

Other: Get it if you need it. and you prolly do :)
